There are three kinds of people in this world. The first ones are those who haven’t heard Indian Ocean. And the second are their fans.
There are no third ones coz You can’t listen to them and not be their fans. The music is just amazing. But is that just it?
The legends called Indian Ocean is not admired the world over just for their earthly tones, they have a lot more to them. They were the first music band to challenge the conventional music sounds dictated by Bollywood composers and still survive. The music which wasn’t western but Indian played with a blend of western sounds. The perfect blend of fusion.
India’s first band who did not cater to the masses, yet struck a chord with all of us. The Revolution that was started in the Indian music circuit 18 years ago, led to a lot of other Indian bands coming forward and believing in themselves.
Indian Ocean is the light that led the way for all indie musicians in India. In an era, where the only hits were Disco Dancers, they showed us that everything is possible. You don’t have to follow the conventions to make it big. And that I feel is the biggest lesson that they taught us.
It is time to experience the phenomenon called Indian Ocean. This Friday, Indian Ocean adds another first to their name. India’s first non-fiction music film to make it nationally. Catch it this Friday, the 2nd at BIG Cinemas. It’s time to contribute to the great Indie music circuit. Its time to add to the legend! It is time to Kandisa!
PS: If you haven’t heard them before, I highly recommend that you ‘buy’ a CD today! You’ll be missing a whole New element of life if you don’t 😀
